When To Book

Beginning September 29 through late November, the Miller’s Road leisure pool at Disney’s Old Key West Resort will be closed for routine maintenance. During this time, Guests may see or hear refurbishment work in the area. Guests are welcome to enjoy the Sandcastle feature pool and the Old Turtle Pond and South Point leisure pools during the temporary closure.

From April-December 2024, Boulder Ridge Villas will undergo exterior refurbishment work. You may see and hear refurbishment work during daytime hours.

From July through August 2024, the exterior of Disney’s BoardWalk Inn tower will undergo maintenance work. Guests may see and hear work during daytime hours.

From August 2024 through mid-September 2024, Leaping Horse Libations will undergo refurbishment work. During this time, a temporary bar will be available on the pool deck from 11 a.m.-9 p.m.

From January 25, 2026, through January 31, 2026, Disney Skyliner will be closed for refurbishment. Complimentary bus service will be available for guests impacted by this closure at Riviera, Boardwalk and Beach Club.

From January 24, 2027, through January 30, 2027, Disney Skyliner will be closed for refurbishment. Complimentary bus service will be available.

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is undergoing major refurbishment. Guests will be able to see and hear construction around the resort – including the lobby – during daytime hours. Most resort amenities will remain available, and guests are advised to allow additional time for travel. No estimated completion date has been released by Disney at this time.

From early July 2025, the Zebra Trail terrace at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge – Jambo House will undergo refurbishment. During this time, Guests may see or hear work taking place in the area. The terrace is expected to open again at the end of July or early August.

As Disney continues to prepare for the proposed expansion of Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, guests will be able to see and hear construction at certain times of day. To minimize disruptions, activities that may create noise will not start earlier than 9:00 AM.

During 2024, exterior painting work will take place throughout Disney's Polynesian Village Resort & Bungalows, with Guest room balconies being affected. Guests may see and hear painting work during daytime hours. Refurbishment work is subject to change due to operational needs or weather conditions.

Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort will undergo refurbishment beginning in July 2023 to update several areas across the Resort. While most Resort amenities will remain available, Guests may see and hear refurbishment work during daytime hours. Guests are advised to please allow for additional travel time. No estimated completion date has been released by Disney at this time, and it is expected the refurbishment will continue into Spring 2024.

From October 2025 through May 2026, Guest rooms at Kidani Village at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge will undergo refurbishment. During this time, Guests may see or hear construction work in the area. All amenities will remain available throughout the refurbishment.

From May 2026 through January 2027, Guest rooms at Jambo House at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge will undergo refurbishment. During this time, Guests may see or hear construction work in the area. All amenities will remain available throughout the refurbishment.

The Cascade Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge will be refurbished beginning April 2024. The cabins will be refurbished four at a time, and Disney Vacation Club guests will not be placed in cabins that are actively being refurbished. You may see and hear refurbishment work during daytime hours.

Due to ongoing construction work on the DVC Cabins at Fort Wilderness, horseback riding will be temporarily unavailable Monday through Friday beginning July 13, 2024. Rides may occur on Saturday and/or Sunday, and if available can be reserved on the My Disney Experience app beginning Friday of each week.

Disney’s Beach Club Resort is undergoing routine exterior maintenance through 2027. As part of this work, the porte cochere will be closed through September 2025. All services—including valet, luggage assistance, and transportation—will remain available. While efforts will be made to minimize disruptions, construction may be noticeable during daytime hours.

From September 2024 through September 2025, room refurbishment work will take place in Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Guests will see and hear construction work throughout Bay Lake Tower during the refurbishment. The Skyway Bridge between Bay Lake Tower and Contemporary Resort may be intermittently closed during the refurb, so please allow additional time for travel.

From January 2025 through June 2025, Stormalong Bay and Shipwreck Pool at Disney’s Beach Club Resort will be closed for routine maintenance. Guests may see or hear construction work during daytime hours. The Tidal and Dunes Cove leisure pools will remain open and available during this time.

Beginning Spring 2025 through to 2026, The Villas at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa is undergoing refurbishment. Select guest room balconies may be inaccessible while work is performed to refresh exterior areas. Guests may see and hear construction work during daytime hours. Napa Rose restaurant will be temporarily closed and is expected to reopen in Fall 2025, however during this time, Disney Princess Breakfast Adventures will be offered in Trillium Room.

From Jan. 12, 2026, through early April 2026, the boat dock at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge will undergo routine maintenance. The dock will be closed and boat transportation temporarily suspended from Jan. 12–30.

Walt Disney World has shifted from a 180-day booking window to a 60-day booking window for dining and experience bookings. This shift to a 60-day booking window is designed to allow Guests to make their plans closer to their visits.

Beginning early May 2025, construction will take place near the Meadow Swimmin’ Pool area. The Meadow Swimmin’ Pool and Wilderness Swimmin’ Pool will remain open for your enjoyment, however, the nearby tennis courts, volleyball court and the Meadow Playground will be temporarily closed. Please note that Guests may see and hear construction in the area until the work is complete.

From January 26, 2026 to early May 2026, the Bay Cove Pool, the water play area and the whirlpool spa at Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort will temporarily be closed for maintenance. The Bay Lake Pool, the feature pool and the water play area and the whirlpool spa at Disney’s Contemporary Resort will remain open for Guests to enjoy.

From January 11, 2027 to April 2027, the Luna Park Pool, the Luna Park Crazy Play Area, and Leaping Horse Libations at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn & Villas will be closed for routine maintenance. Guests may see and hear construction until the work is complete.

The Paddock Pool, its aquatic play area and The Paddock Grill at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort will be closed from October 13 through early December for routine maintenance.

From January 5, 2026, through November 2026, exterior refurbishment work will take place at Disney’s Vero Beach Resort. During this time, Guests may see and hear construction work during daytime hours.

The Waikolohe family pool, Waikolohe whirlpool spa, and Volcanic Vertical body slide will be closed for refurbishments from April 13 – May 8, 2026. During this time, guests can still enjoy the Waikolohe Stream lazy river, Ka Maka Pool & Grotto family pool, Keiki Cove children’s splash zone, Tubestone Curl tube slide, Menehune Bridge water play structure, several whirlpool spas, and the Ko Olina beach area.
